How soft washing works
We evaluate the surface, apply a cleaning treatment suited to it, let it work, then rinse at low pressure. The solution breaks down the growth, so nothing has to be blasted off.
- Vinyl, Hardie board and painted siding
- Asphalt shingle roofs
- Stucco and EIFS
- Screened porches and pool cages
- Fences, signs and painted surfaces
Soft wash or pressure wash?
Pick a surface to see which method we use.
Siding: Soft wash
Vinyl, Hardie board and painted siding get a low pressure, high volume soft wash. A cleaning solution does the work on mildew and algae, so water is never forced behind the panels.
Removes: Mildew, algae, pollen, spider webs
Roof: No pressure
Black streaks on shingles are algae. Roofs are treated with a soft wash solution and gently rinsed. A pressure washer never touches the shingles.
Removes: Black streaks, algae, moss, lichen
Driveway or sidewalk: Surface cleaner
Concrete gets a rotary surface cleaner at high pressure for an even, stripe free finish, followed by a rinse and spot treatment on stubborn stains.
Removes: Mildew, dirt, red clay, tire marks
Pavers and brick: Medium pressure
Pavers and brick get a moderate setting that lifts moss and grime from the faces and joints without blasting out the joint sand.
Removes: Moss, mildew, weeds in joints
Wood deck or fence: Low pressure
Wood is cleaned at low pressure with the right cleaner so the grain does not fur up or splinter.
Removes: Gray weathering, mildew, algae
Storefront: Matched to surface
Glass, block, brick, metal and concrete each get their own method, scheduled around your business hours.
Removes: Gum, grime, mildew, stains

Soft washing questions
What does soft washing remove?
Dirt, algae, mildew, pollen, spider webs and other organic buildup.
Is soft washing better than pressure washing?
It depends on the surface. Soft washing is the right choice for siding, roofs and painted surfaces. Pressure washing is better for hard surfaces like concrete. Read our soft vs pressure washing guide.
How long do soft washing results last?
Because the treatment kills growth at the root, results usually last much longer than a pressure rinse alone. Shade, moisture and nearby trees affect how soon it returns.
