Soft wash roof cleaning
Those black streaks are algae, and they spread. We treat them with a soft wash solution and let it work. A pressure washer never touches your shingles.

What the black streaks are
Roof algae feeds on the limestone filler in many asphalt shingles. Left alone, it spreads across the roof and can hold moisture against the surface. Pressure washing a roof can strip the protective granules, so we never do it.

Roof cleaning questions
Is roof cleaning safe for shingles?
Yes, when it is done with a soft wash. No pressure is used on the roof surface.
How long until the streaks are gone?
Many streaks fade right away. Some take a few rains to fully wash out as the treatment finishes working.
Do you walk on the roof?
Only where it is safe to do so. Many roofs can be treated from ladders and the ground.
